High Voltage Battery

The part that provides power to the electric motor and may be partially recharged by energy captured when decelerating or coasting.  For Hybrid Vehicles, power from a gas engine can be diverted to recharge the battery as well.

Auxiliary Battery

This category also includes Mild Hybrid 48 Volt Lithium Ion Batteries which may assist with the Start / Stop Function of a vehicle.
